Doing it again!

I'm doing it again - going to bed really late - I am going to be too tired to diet and exercise tomorrow!

I really need to get my act together and not see it as a diet and exercise regime, but a lifestyle change so that means:

  1. Eating less
  2. Exercising more
  3. Getting plenty of sleep
  4. Not saying I'll start a diet 'tomorrow' but actually use the name and date of when I'm starting
  5. Drink far more water/fluid than I'm doing already
  6. Stop beating myself up and feeling guilty if I slip up
  7. Learn to forgive myself and move on
  8. Be more disciplined in getting into a routine - like for flute and singing practice
These are small steps which could lead to one major change in my life!

Anyone reading this - don't get discouraged if you're trying to lose weight - keep going! An athlete didn't win a gold medal by giving up - they won it through sheer dedication and determination and of course, discipline!

Today

Hi - not a lot been happening again! Had some missionaries around for tea - ate a choc chip muffin and a packet of ready salted crisps *sigh* as well as 2 rolls (one plain and the other with ham in).

Lunch - I did a really strange quiche lorraine

Breakfast - 2 American Pancakes!

No fruit and hardly any fluids - no wonder I don't lose weight *deep sigh*

Oh well let's not get dispondent and carry on carrying on :)

WOW!

It's been a few days since I last posted! It's difficult to keep the momentum of posting up! It can get a bit boring as I don't get up to that much really

Well here I am - feeling absolutely stuffed full of almond macaroons :| I love them - well I did bake them yesterday :)

Monday must be serious exercising day! Maybe I should take the lads over to the basketball court and run around a bit playing ball or if it's not windy take badmintoon raquets over and knock a shuttle around for a bit - or even practice tennis strokes!

Home now

It's really difficult to write a daily blog without it getting boring :| All I talk about is food and/or exercise! Well, there's not a lot else to talk about :p

I have flute and singing lessons and will be taking my Grade 5 flute exam in July and then my Grade 4 singing exam in November :) I will then have to take my Grade 5 theory exam before I can move onto Grade 6 flute! GULP!

Was at a friend's house today and had a good time! Tomorrow is a home educator's day where the children will learn how to make felt - cool! Some of the older ones will do map reading activities! Should be fun!

Today's the day...

I did 30 minutes aerobics and toning! For breakfast I had 2 slices GF toast and marmalade, then I went to my flute lesson - didin't go as well as I was hoping considering my exam will be June/July time! Onward with the practising!

For lunch I had 3 slices bacon and a slice of GF bread then had a dessert thingy which is probably high in calories! Really need to make every effort to stop eating so much - then I'll lose weight!

OK have some friends coming this afternoon for sports (well, the kids have the run around! )

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

I weighed myself this morning - hoping I was lighter than I thought I was - but nope I'm actually heavier - 11 stone 2 pounds which is 'weigh' too much for my 5'2.5" frame - I should be between 7 stone 11 and 9 stone 11 so I am sooooooooo overweight I HAVE to do something! I have 3 months to lose a decent amount of weight!

Someone told me yesterday that if you drink a lot of water then it helps your liver break down all the fat - so maybe that's my problem - I really don't drink enough! I don't exercise enough either! I used to do 2 exercise DVDs a day and go swimming a couple of times a week but I just sit around these days! I am going to eat more salads etc as well! Low fat, low calorie - Rosemary Conley recipes are great and they taste soooo good I have to pigging out and I should also write down the food I eat daily in a food diary!

Today

Today has been a day of eating a lot of biscuits and crisps etc! I really need to focus though if I want to lose a stone (14lbs) before my friend's daughter's wedding! I would love to look good in a nice outfit! Last year at a different friend's wedding I looked like a fat blob - thought I looked good in the outfit but the photos told the whole truth!

Back to work properly for the lads tomorrow so I can start focussing too! :)

Insomnia

OK been awake since 7am yesterday morning! Went to bed at midnight - couldn't sleep so got up and did some chores, had some bacon, mushrooms and a dry-fried egg at 5am for breakfast and now I'm on here! Been on Facebook as well and chatted to a friend in the US!

Have to do quite a bit of baking today ready for tomorrow - having 5 people for dinner & tea so that will mean 9 people eating! Saw a website the other day of a family with 18 children so daily mum is cooking for 20 people - eeeek! I'm not sure how I'd manage, but I guess I would!

OK onward into another day - may have a sleep this afternoon |-) zzzzzz

Today...

...it's raining and I have to walk into town to the Drs - well I don't have to walk but it's only a 15 min walk down the hill and parking is pretty dire here!

Not had breakfast yet, but I will have to go and have some and then look up some GF/DF desserts for Sunday as we have 5 people coming for dinner and tea! Usually make bread and chocolate pudding but that's having to go out the window due to M and my GF/DF diet!

Fairy Cakes and Salad

What a combination I hear you say! Well I had salad for lunch but a friend had baked some fairy cakes as a thank you so I have had some of those and they are really delicious - THANK YOU BUDDY! :) I had 3 (I know that's a lot, but really they are yummy!)

Good Day folks

Well this morning I had some American pancakes with Incan Berries in them - yummy! I really need to do some recipes using seeds and bee pollen!

Spoke to my lovely sister this morning! Probably won't be seeing her this week - it's been soooo long since the last time we saw each other :(

Oh well it's lunch time now! May not post on here often now as the lads are going to start their work after lunch - I home educate them and this is the end of their holidays :|

Party Poem

Once I went to a party
My plate ladened with food
Well I didn't really want
To appear awfully rude



So on went the sausage rolls
Those little vol au vonts
And I've got to admit it
Anything one would want



The pizzas looked just scrummy
And the sarnies were a treat
The quiche looked rather special
And so did the sweet



There were cheesecakes and gateaux
Things oozing with cream
Everything looked delicious
I felt like I could scream



Who cares? I spooned it in
To my over-sized bowl
Everything in large quantities
Some things were whole!



Oh well there's always tomorrow
To start on my slimming quest
I promise that tomorrow
I will do my utmost best


The only problem is you see
Tomorrow never comes
So if I'm not careful
I'll still be eating buns



Just pretend that somebody
Is giving you loadsa dosh
If you lose all your excess weight
And don't eat too much nosh!



Always think about being svelt
Tiny and size eight
And you could always go and buy
A tinsy winsy plate!



Do not despair dear dieter
We all have ups and downs
So if you have a slip up
Don't wear those awful frowns

Aerobics

Phewie - I just did 30 minutes aerobics (ummmm well about 1 hour ago now)! It was low impact but I guess it's a start! I also washed the dishes afterwards! :| Time to read my youngest a story before bed...

Making up

I'm now making up for not writing yesterday! Today I have eaten:

Breakfast:
Fruit and a choc mousse

Lunch:
Large salad and bacon + 3 small choc bars (I know I shouldn't have...)

Dinner:
Quiche Lorraine (last one in the freezer) and oven chips

I haven't drunk a lot (again!)

I guess I need to start focussing on things now! Including exercise!

FOOD!

Oooo I didn't write anything yesterday! Well I went to town in the morning, had lunch with Al then later on in the day I went to a church tea and then there was the Good Friday service in church!

This morning I ate a bowl of fruit with soya choc mousse over it! Hopefully it's not too
fattening! Hopefully it's not fattening at all!

Later on I'm going to be cooking Rosemary Conley's Steak and Kidney Pie which is absolutely yummy - it does contain quite a few calories (550) but it's absolutely yummy :)

For lunch I am going to eat salad with something not sure what, so long as it's low fat/calorie!

Oh well onward - have a fab day folks

Breakfast today

Well, good morning world! Not sure anyone is following my blog, but good morning whoever may stumble upon it!

This morning I had to be at the Drs for 09:00 and I had a bowl of cornflakes before making my way down the hill and into town! Was out of the surgery by 09:10 which was really good, but then I had to walk all the way up the huge hill! I was sooooooo tired by the end of it - well truth were told - half way up it! *sigh* I really need to dust off those DVDs - I have quite a few now and a lot of Rosemary Conley's cookbooks! I have been getting her magazine since the first issue in 1996 - I have lost 3 copies though because I loaned them to somebody who never gave them back :(. I know what I should do but putting it into practice is an effort! *another sigh*! In my 20s I would lose weight and keep it off (after having my children I lost 3 stone after my eldest and 2 stone after my youngest - I used Rosemary's Inch Loss Plan! and exercised to a Rosemary Inch Loss Plan audio tape as I didn't have a TV at the time). In 2005 I lost over a stone, then injured my ankle doing salsercise and put nearly 2 stone on! Grrrrr! I'm only 5'2.5" so at 11 stone I am waaaaaaay too heavy - I am also quite small framed!

Plan of action:
  • To go GF and DF (Gluten Free & Dairy Free - I am almost DF anyway) as I have a terrible digestive system!
  • To eat more fruit and veg and less junk - been reading a good book about nutrition
  • To exercise daily - my body is rather round instead of my usual curvacious shape!
  • To pamper myself more - make myself feel more confident!
  • To write down all I eat and drink! ALL being the operative word!

Let's hope this works as I really want to get down to 8 stone or 8 stone 7lbs (which I was when we moved to where I am now...)

Just read an article that I found online aout a family who are getting £22,000 a year in benefits between the 4 of them and they say it's not enough! They are all overweight and are claiming it's not their fault because it's in their genes! They eat an average of 3,000 calories perday - if they ate less it might help their weight to drop off - another thing they need to do is exercise! They can't use that as an excuse as they could do gentle exercises to start off with! Most people in the town I live in wouldn't get £22,000 a year! Margaret Thatcher was correct when she said that people relied too much on the Welfare State - granted there are many genuine people who could use the help but people like those in the article are just taking the mick!

OK on the subject of losing weight - I haven't done a lot this week - I know, I know I should! *sigh*

I really do HAVE to go shopping for healthy food (which the aforementioned family said is too expensive!) I am going to go gluten and dairy free as I have a very bad digestive system - TMI I hear you saying :)

Wednesday

Well here I am early hours of Wed morning! I should really be going to bed so that I can have a good night's sleep ready for my healthy lifestyle which should include 8 hours sleep!

Ideally I should be going to bed at 10pm and waking about 06:30-07:00 in practice that never works out though...

I don't think I have anything on tomorrow but Thursday might just turn out to be busy...

Today

OK have to admit that I haven't done anything remotely dieting wise! I am going to write a shopping list though and buy more fruit and veg - just eaten some poisonous meat - ooops I mean canned meat! Full of nitrites - poison, poison, poison! No wonder cancer is so prevalent in the west it's all the junk the manufacturers put in food like aspartame, monosodium glutamate, nitrites, nitrates, colouring, preservatives, chemicals on crops, then there's the pollution in the atmosphere from the traffic and the nuclear fallout from places like Chernobyl - even though that happened 20 or so years ago there's probably some radio-active junk in the air! No wonder people are getting chest infections etc which will not go away! OK rant over for a bit ;)

Dieting and other stuff

Well here we are on Sunday 5th April 2009 - I'm fed up with being overweight and having a shelf full of clothes I can't wear anymore! When I first move here I was 8 stone 7lbs but now I'm 2.5 stones heavier and it's driving me nuts as I've lost loads of weight in the past and kept it off but lately I've been eating too much and exercising little so the pounds have piled on!

I hope I can keep this up (as in writing this blog to record my progress) because in the past I have started blogs and forgotten about them after about a week - so somewhere in cyber-space I have blogs which are lying dormant *sigh*.

I know what I have to do to lose weight! Just putting it into practice and keeping to it is hard! ALTHOUGH I should really call it a life style change! I am going to go gluten free as well as dairy and additive free as I believe I have (am) ADD - not good having all that muck whizzing about my body!

Well here's to a life style change and eating healthy fruit and veg instead of high fat junk! I am what I eat - junk! Argh what a horrible thought!

IF anybody reads this (I don't know how many people will read it) - here's to a brighter future and a shelf full of clothes I CAN fit into... :)
